More dedicated board guides needed on this forum

Yes I know the board guides don't get paid and do the best they can when they can, but surely as this is one of the busiest forums on MSE wouldn't it be a good idea to have more dedicated board guides that just look after this one forum to take the strain off Glad & Dalkirst
For instance this post was requested a merge on 6th Feb and it still hasn't been done (there are also many more like this)

I know Dalkirst doesn't log on very often now, but that is what is needed - BG's that are around daily as dupe posts can result in people disqualifying themselves.

Yes, I know there is no "R" in the word dream in my username - it was setup in memory of my grandson :A

You have anyone in mind IDOF or will it be a 'see who comes forward'
Could have a dupe button the same as the spam one where it gets mentioned to someone. Most comps, if duped are linked in the post anyway (well by most people)0 -
me & OH say the same about our freecycle groups etc as they get cluttered up with spammy posts.
weve now taken over one of the free sites. we dont get paid, but every time one of us is near the pc we check for messages which need approving. plenty of people are at home like us, our pc doesnt get turned off through the day. it only takes a second.0 -

I just don't log out from work or home
If i was a stay at home mum i could do it0 -
There was a thread asking for volunteers last year sometime, several people volunteered I think, but the powers that be decided we didn't need anymore for some reason.

Just found it, was actually 2013.StayHome * StaySafe * BeKind0 -
I would hate to try and moderate/run this forum one handed. It's huge and fast moving and has far more 'hands on' work required than many of the other forums on MSE.
'Powers that be' might want to look at giving Glad a bit of support.Comps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%
SEALED POT CHALLENGE MEMBER No. 428 2015 - £210.930 -

And honestly - that idea would go down like a lead balloon :rotfl:0 -

Yea, I saw that one back in 2003 - but they wanted people to look after at least 3 boards. As the Competition forum is one of the busiest it needs BG's just looking after this one forum as it would take up a great deal of time sorting out all the dupes, miss-placed posts, incorrect title posts.. etcAnd honestly - that idea would go down like a lead balloon :rotfl:Yes, I know there is no "R" in the word dream in my username - it was setup in memory of my grandson :A0 -
I always think it is a bit presumptuous to say there needs to be more BGs. If they need help then I am sure they would ask for it0

Aye, they might not be around to merge etc but they're quick off the mark with the delete button when a fairly juicy/controversial/interesting thread appears!
Sax or Snake would be a good choice!
Might get rid of some of the OTT pantwetting (over nothing) that happens too frequently on here0
