Help...my nexus 4 isn't working!!

Can anyone help with hopefully fixing my nexus 4. Almost none of the apps are working, I have Hangouts set as my defult SMS app and this isn't working but I can't uninstall the app to set Messenger as the default. I've tried switching it off and on again but the issue isn't rectifying itself. Help needed urgently please. And please go steady as I am not techy minded

Factory restore but you will lose all data and return to an out of the box state .0 -
Yes the battery is charged, I have had a look on the Nexus Help forum and was wondering if it was something to do with the new OS?0

Have you updated then ??? to what OS .
If so a factory reset may help .0 -
