I understand that but unlike clothes shops I know that some Airlines will price match.:)

Well as you know best why ask here?

If you had actually bothered to read original question you would realize I did ask does Thomas Cook price match. This would infer that I didn't know whether Thomas Cook priced matched and was asking the forum members did they know. However it's very kind of you to think I know best.I've been trying to convince my hubby that this is the case for many years.:rotfl:

Interesting. Which airlines do you know that will price-match after you have bought a ticket? That would be valuable information to share with the MSE community.

Have been able to claim back difference with Easyjet,BA ,and United Airlines. All three gave vouchers towards next booking.
  • The thing is, you have had a good few weeks of happiness, knowing that your flights are booked and looking forward to your holiday. Anyone who books today will have missed out on those weeks of happiness and so is getting an inferior product, hence the price reduction.

In order to make things fair, if you get the price difference refunded then Thomas Cook would have to wipe your memory and remove all trace of the happiness that you have enjoyed.

Geez ,how long did it take you to come up with this reply?Back to original question, "Does Thomas Cook price match?"
  • I would imagine any price matching is done BEFORE you commit, not afterwards.

Would you be happy to have another £75 slapped on next month if the price goes up?

No I've had voucher refunds from Easyjet,BA, and United Airlines in the past.Got these after I booked flights.Am nearly sure I also got refund when I booked package holiday to Cyprus with Thomson a few years back and price went down by about £120 3 months after booking. Can't be positive though could have been Direct Holidays know it was definately a cash refund.:)
  • I bought a holiday from Thomas Cook just after Christmas. It has now gone up by £200 per person. I hope they don't come asking me for the difference;)

Think the point of companies price matching is to keep you happy and to encourage you to keep booking flights/holidays with them.Don't know many people who would continue to use a company if they invoiced you every time the price went up.Could be wrong though.;)

Thanks didn't want to waste time in case someone on forum had already looked into it and had been given a definate no.
Using MSE is usually a handy way of finding things out.
Phoned earlier it took me a good 40minutes being transferred from one department to another. Was finally told they would not price match. What they did was free meals each way,and free assigned seats each way. Seats would have been £38 and meals £36.Not as good as vouchers or cash but am happy with outcome.Wasn't easy though had to really push for everything.:j

No they don't and nor would I. Why should they?

    Hung up my suit!
According to statistics I read last week the best time to book to get best price for a flight is about 47 days before the flight. I fly Thomas Cooks every year and I would not expect them to refund the difference. The OP thanks very much is subsidising my flight.;)
