Spyware or not???????

Hi
Can anyone offer me some advice or help please.

I have noticed when I logg off for a split second there is another page shown. It is a blue background with a camera icon in the middle and some wording but it is so quick I cannot make out the words.

Does anyone know what this might be, malware, spyware or worse.

How do I remove whatever it is.

I would be grateful for any advice.

Thank you

Run Malwarebytes to see if it finds anything....

  • Thanks for your responses guys. I shall look into both later tonight.

I have discovered that if all the applications are closed when I log off I don't see the offending screen. If I have IE open I do see it. I'm wondering if something has attached itself to IE without me knowing and is running in the background.

    Does this sound plausible?

Any advice to get rid of it, will Malawarebytes do the trick.

    Thanks

To take a snapshot of the page press the Prt Scr / SysRq key on your keyboard and paste into Word or similar.

Is this not just Windows finding some applications still open and telling you it needs to close them first before it can shutdown? And your PC runs quickly enough that this screen doesn't stay up for very long?

Might be difficult to do since this happens during shutdown. ;)

Well done Bod, I wondered who'd be the first to spot that :D
  • Great idea Tavernman witht he video. I got a shaky, out of focus pic but I will try again.

It says something like - He's dead Jim - then gors in to talk about Father Christmas.

Does this mean anything to anyone?
Would it be connected to Facebook as I left the Facebook page open and it appeared.

    Thanks everyone

Yep, that's what happens when files necessary to Google Chrome's operation crash or are shutdown.

I wouldn't worry about it. Your system is shutting down and thus the files Chrome needs to operate are shutdown with it. In turn, Chrome is unable to continue operation and displays its error message.

thanks Tropez that's put my mind at rest. You can't be too careful these days with some of the gits about lol.

    Thanks
