Recommended Solicitors for Buying a House?

Evening all!

I have just had my offer accepted on a flat:j..and am now (rather cluelessly) looking for a solicitor. Can anybody recommend a solicitor in Bristol - or does anybody have any tips as to what I should be looking for and avoiding please?

Many thanks indeed!!

  • Phone up as many local estate agents as you can be bothered to and ask them which 2 LOCAL solicitors they like dealing with.

Some agents will recommend their own in-house solicitors - ignore these as they will commission based recommendations, and not a local sol that you can drop things in to should you need.

After about 10-12 phone calls you should get a feel of which solicitors are good at communication, and also which solicitors are popular with and used by other purchasers/vendors.

    Good luck !
  • We have had a decent experience with Beaumont. They are a very big portion which some people are not happy with but we had a very positive experience. They have an online tool which updates you where you are in the process which worked well!
