Scottish Power Problem?

Hi we switched to scottish power in september, and have been in touch with them constantly to tell them the direct debit isnt enough
now it turns out we are one of 30 thousand customers effected by a ibm technical glitch meaning, no readings are being taken for gas or electricity and may not be resolved within A YEAR! and there no billing information on the gas at all, its not recognising theyre charging for the electricity or heat, even though we do show as being with them
mind they didnt contact us to tell us this I had to constantly hold for 50 minutes every week

right now Ive obviously complained, and Ive doubled the direct debit theyre taking, but its paying blind as theyve no clue at all what the bills will be or when its just sitting in their account

Im also going to start paying additional money into a savings account just in case this carrys on.

I feel completely stuck, the staff on the phone dont know what the heck to do as theyre saying theyre seeing these problems taking over a year to sort once the customer contacts them

anybody else in the middle of this

  • Hi,

they've had problems with their computer system and billing for months.

I would suggest that you keep a weekly/monthly record of meter readings, and do a calculation yourself to check usage.
