Of course you can, but the debt will not go away. The DWP WILL recover it via direct deductions from earnings or from any future benefit payment including the State Pension! You won't be allowed to walk away from it if the debt is owed.
It's a shame that they don't have the standard 8% of interest being added as well. That might get people to pay up quicker!!0 -

you really need to read up on the facts before you start telling people that they don't owe anything ( which they obviously do)
