Yorskhire Bank Switch - How long does it take?

So, for those that have switched already - how long did it take from initial call to getting the account up and running?

(And does it take much longer before the balance of your old account is switched to your YB account - assuming that you asked for the switch to take place ASAP, rather than some fixed date in the future?)

I have trawled through some of the main YB/CB thread but its of epic proportions now so figured it might be best to ask in a separate thread.

I saw one poster (Fruit and Nut) in that thread quoted 20 days for their own application. Is this about average?

It varies – but if you apply by phone you normally wait a week to get the switching pack in the post. Assume you return that the next day it will take at least a week to sort out the switch with your old bank. So at least two weeks – and possibly longer – before the switch happens.

My first switch was very slow – took nearly a month after applying by phone. The second recently was done much quicker.

A switch only takes 7 working days from the day it starts. How long it takes for the account to be opened is another story.
