&more Chargecard Upgrade

Hi all,

Completely new poster on here (long time listener/viewer or whatever the old adage is)...

I wanted to apply for an &more credit card and for some reason got rejected - keep an eye on my credit details etc. with creditexpert and can not pick out anything in particular but hey ho - their perogative I guess...perhaps not being on the electoral roll (only just noticed myself!) had something to do with it...

Now, if I apply for the chargecard do you think I have a better chance of upgrading to the credit card in a couple of months or would I still need to wait say 6months-year to apply again for the credit card? The credit card application process does have a section to include details of the chargecard you hold if you want to upgrade it....

(PS. I know itmay seem a bit weird to persist with M&S but I prefer to go for financial products with companies I like and with offers such as the life of balance that &more gives!)

From someone that used to 'sell' the &More:

You will go through exactly the same credit checks for the Chargecard as the &More.

When we tell people we're 'upgrading' them from the CC, all we're doing is closing their CC down and opening an &More...and it has been known for customers to be rejected for the latter after closing the former, thus leaving them with no account.

Best thing to do is get yourself on the elctoral roll, maybe get another traditionally 'bad' card, eg. Capital One, then try the &More in a few months.

The &More is pretty good if you're a regular M&S shopper, since you get vouchers that come with your loyalty vouchers on the lines of "spend £20 on food, get £2 of points back).

therefore if you're a regular M&S luvvie, it's worth doing, if not, then maybe there are better cards out there, all depends on what you want it for!
