  • Have you tried requesting details and phoning?

I've done this 3 times and it has always resulted in payment within a day, be nice but insistent.

    Why phone?

Buyer either pays or seller opens an NPB. By phoning and trying to persuade buyer to pay you are just encouraging poor behaviour.

I know you have an issue with ebay, as can be seen from your posts- but what exactly would you do in this instance then to make it fairer?

Sellers can NPB a buyer and 2 such strikes would mean they were effectively banned from bidding on most sellers auctions. However whilst sellers either let them off as is the case with the OP here, or just don't bother with an NPB and leave positive feedback instead- what do you think is going to happen?

There is a system for non payers, if sellers choose not to use it then we can hardly blame ebay.

I haven't let anyone 'off', I just like to be a bit 'human' before I open a case. (You will remember that I have actually opened the case, as stated in the title - I haven't joined the multitude who left her remarks about not paying, although, quite possibly they did that before they opened their own cases)

As someone else said, stuff happens, I accept that, just do the decent thing and tell your seller about it. No need to go into private info, just be polite. I don't think that is too much to ask.

If, again, as stated, in her feedback, she has several IDs then surely ebay must be able to pick up on that. If she gets blocked on one and continues on another that this is just making a mockery of it.

Ebay are unlikely to block anyone, especially if they do not have any NPB strikes against them. Sellers however can set their restrictions to mean that buyers with 2 or more strikes cannot bid at all on their items. Make sure you have that enabled on your selling account.

Therefore, if seller always did a full NPB and didn't just leave a positive these buyers would effectively ban themselves.

Just had 2 non payers in as many days, both from Spain strangely.
Anyhow I've NPB them both, one has already messaged me (in Spanish which I translated easily enough and also replied to him in Spanish) that he doesn't want the item. Am I right in thinking that to re-list I have to use 1 of my 20 free listings ?
You'd think after raising a NPB you'd get the re-list as an extra free as it's not your fault

Not a seller myself, but when you do a NPB don`t you get all fees refunded including listing fees?
Or am I being naive :(

    Yes, you do.
But they certainly don't go out of their way to inform newer sellers - and make it difficult with overseas .com.

You don't get your listing fee back after an NPB you get a credit if the item is relisted and sells the second time. It will also come out of the 20 free listings for a private seller.

Or at least that is what it used to be, eBay keep changing the goalposts.

IMO to make it 'fair' sellers should be able to leave - FB if they open and 'win' the non payment case, or ebay leave a standard negative comment "non paying bidder".
Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Save up for that rainy day[/STRIKE].
Start enjoying a stress debt free life.....now enjoying. thanks to all on MSE
