Sky set top box connector question.

I am moving house soon. I have a sky digi (not plus) box and want to take it to the new house which already has a dish that looks like my exsiting one .. the black mesh oval shaped one.
However, my box only has one input for the cable from the dish, while the other has a cable with twin plugs coming from the dish. Do I need a different set top box? Is there an adaptor that will adapt my box to the twin plug connector?
thanks in advance

You are fine just to use one of the cables.
The dish has been used previously for Sky+ which takes 2 feeds from the dish.
If you upgrade to a Sky+ box in the future it will be easy to install.

Confirm above, just use one of the feeds.
You might find a cheap Sky+ box being sold, a simple job of just connecting both feeds and calling Sky to pair the viewing card to the box, Sky+ recording is now free as long as you subscribe to Sky. Just depends if you want Sky+. If not just simply use current box and one of the feeds. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... thanks, does that mean then, that I can extend one of the plugs to another room and use a separate stb and watch different channels at the same time? I have seen old stbs for sale for £15.0

Yeah that's another option, you will need a multiroom subscription (£10 per month) for the Sky Channels or a FreeSat card for all the terrestrial channels (£20 one off).
No card at all allows access to BBC & ITV channels which are broadcast completely in the clear.
C4 & C5 are still encrypted and require one of the above mentioned £20 cards.

My original sky digibox has broken. Could I buy a second hand box to replace mine or do they require special set up. I use it for freeview as I don't currently subscribe to sky.
Thanks!0 -

Freeview is what you get from an aerial, what you have is 'Freesat from Sky' ('Freesat' being a BBC trade make).
You can just buy a 2nd hand box and pop in your FTV (Free To View) viewing card. If you ever want to subscribe again to Sky you'd need to phone them to pair up the viewing card to the new box if you wanted to add Sports and / or Films. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... In a word YES, assuming you mean free to air channels and not " Freeview ".
Also the five Free To View channels (Sky Three, Ch4, Five, Five US and Five Life) these require the viewing card, the other free channels (Free To Air ones) require no card, just a digital satellite receiver. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Yes I am well aware of that, but the OP didn't ask that, they just wanted to know if they could replace their broken box with another one.;)0 -
while on the subject of ftv card, is there any way of watching more4 and E4 for free on a sky box?0
