60mm or 70mm uPVC profile replacement for sash?

If replacing wooden sash frames with uPVC frames, how do I know whether I should opt for a 60mm or a 70mm profile?

I've had some quotes, and some have suggested 60mm profiles and some 70mm?

Thanks!

in general a 70mm is used on domestic buildings unless the rebate is short and a crittal or metal window is coming out (60mm is often used on commercial buildings for this reason) . not normally much difference in price and a standard 28mm d/g/unit sits in a 70mm frame without looking like its thin .ratings are higher and lower in different frames 60 & 70 .

Since 70mm is generally better insulating, it sounds like I should be getting this.

It's a wooden sash which is coming out, not a metal frame, so sounds as if there's no particular benefit/reason for installing 60mm.

generally correct . and no normal benefit I can see just make sure your not very close to the outside coarse that it sticks out beyond the edge by installing a 70mm profile . I have just quoted a job that insisted on a 180mm cill . I had to ask why she wanted a 180mm cill . it turned out a salesman said it would be better . ?? beggared if I know why .standard fit no dash no render ..
