Watching Footy on satellite TV - Bye Sky!

I got fed up with how expensive Sky was -my wife and I (keen Liverpool fans) mainly watched the footy so at the end of the season we cancelled Sky altogether -and saved £36+ per month -we still get 20 or so freeview channels on the Sky Box.
The season is about to begin and we could see us ending up forking out another £30-40 per month...
BUT.... I've just discovered that I because I have a Sky box, dish and card (even though I have no subscription) we can purchase Setanta Sports channels http://gb.setanta.tv/gb_index.htm
For £10 per month we get 46 live premiership games - plus every Liverpool game in full (delayed) on the new LFC TV channel which will be out in Sept.
plus lots of live Scottish football and more.
That's a lot of footy and a lot of saving -now I don't need to go back to Sky.
I thought to get Setanta you'd need a Sky subscription but you don't!

Can you just take out a months subscription and choose the month, or is it a minimum 12 months?0

I believe the fixture list for setanta is very poor compared to the sky games
SKy still get the premium big fixtures.
Setanta is really only good for scottish football?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Scottish football is awful anyway....

Seems to have a list of Setantas fixtures up until Novemeber.0 -
setanta doesn't just have football it has the rights to Ricky Hatton fights and Joe Calzaghe fights plus live Touring car action so £10 a month is not so bad0

I’m a very keen Liverpool fan too, though Mrs A doesn’t like footy much.
We have Sky+ with the full channel set and we don’t plan to change that as Mrs A loves the Tennis and Rugby, plus we both like movies.
I am interested in the “Every Liverpool Game” option.
How delayed are the games and is that a Sky option, a Setanta option or a Liverpool FC option? Man U and Chelsea have subscription channels on Sky Sports.
If the price is reasonable I would be very keen to get it.
But don’t tell Mrs A. I will sneak the extra cost in quietly.0 -
Thanks for that info.

I think about 10 or 12 are broadcast live anyway, either on Sky Sports or Sky Premiership Plus, and most of the rest are shown slightly truncated late on Saturday evening.
Thanks for the update.0 -
It is probably not worth me subscribing for that.

Only PremPlus is now not being broadcast due to sky having lost out to setanta sports. The setanta deal is £10 per month and is a non-contract deal, meaning you can pick and choose your months viewing :T0
