I feel so rubbish

Options
Hello,
I'm looking for some advice.

I split up with my partner; we have a child together, anyway we were apart about 2 years.
We got together again after a 'break' and things are going really well, he has moved back into the home now.

I was using CAP to help pay off my debts to Hitachi (Loan) and Credit card and overdraft (Barclays) They were expecting ridiculous amounts of money from me to pay these debts, and never replied to my emails.

Anyway my debts are about £5,800. I have spoken to Barclays and they will accept £30 p/month. Barclaycard will accept £81.00. minimum payment.

Im struggling with hitachi, I dont want to talk to my partner about it, he had no dealings with these loans etc. He didn't live here at the time.
But they basically expect him to pay it back from some of his income. I only earn £600 p/month as part time with Little one.

He pays £650 to me per month and then all bills come from my account.

I feel so silly and ashamed to get myself into this mess. I'm so sad all the time, I never go out, apart from to run. And then all I want to do is run away.

He would be so disappointed in me :(

I have emailed Hitachi and asked what the minimum they would accept is..Just got to wait and see I guess.

I don't really know what to ask, I just wanted to talk I suppose.

Why if the debts are not his? Did you include his income in an income/expenditure form or something?

Why not sit down and talk to your OH? He is your partner for a reason and if you two want to stick it out in the long term, there shouldn't be any secrets between you - imagine the misery it will cause when he does find out, the trust will be gone and that is difficult to regain. Good luck.

I suppose if he is paying her £650 a month then they will count that as part of her income and expect her to make debt payments from this amount

It's an odd arrangement. Why doesn't he just pay the bills directly?

you need to be open and honest about your situation, maybe put a practical budget sheet together so you can see areas that you can work on to reduce, so you are able to make the payments.
