Gaming computer help for a non tech savy

Yeah, the 750Ti is virtually equivalent to the Maxwell-version GTX860M that is in one of my laptops (slight differences in memory speeds and bandwidth favouring the 750Ti aside) and it has proven mostly quite capable (Company of Heroes 2 notwithstanding).
Since a 2GB GTX750Ti can be had for about £80-£90 it makes it a fantastic card for budget builds - much like the old nVidia 8800GT was back in the day.
I've a GTX750Ti coupled with a Xeon 1230v3 and it's a great combo for hackintosh, Linux and windows, runs games nicely too.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

the big problem with gfx cards and the way games are written is that you always have to compromise between cost and performance ... not that many people can afford to build a system around a £1500 or more gfx card and maybe games designers ought to consider this..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

If you read a couple of my posts on this thread, a G3220 pentium 4gb RAM with an Nvidia 750Ti will perform almost as well as an i7 4770k 16gb ram with an Nvidia 750Ti.

You can get a Lenovo pentium G3220 box with Windows OS keyboard and mouse from here: £199 inc vat

That's a pretty kickass gaming rig for a tad under £300, plus of course a monitor - plenty of good 24inch monitors on Amazon for about £100.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

close, but most of those Lenovos only have 250W psus fitted, add another £30-ish for something like this to drive the 750Ti:-

plus, your link was for a 750, not a Ti, so add another £15ish... there is a difference, and IMHO a Ti is worth the extra few quid......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
