Call Guardian box? £26 a month? scam?

Does anyone know anything about something called the Call Guardian box?
An elderly friend has one, it supposedly is a box that you fit to the phone and it blocks unwanted calls.
She informed me yesterday that it was costing her £26 a month, which immediately set ofc alarm bells for me.
However, I can't find anything about it online so far, no one reporting it as a scam which I would expect.
What I can find is a company report saying the company has been dissolved (company number listed on the box), and the website listed on the box no longer exists.
My friend is 79, and increasingly confused, so the £26 might be something she is misunderstanding, but I would like to help her, so if anyone has any information I would appreciate it, thank you.

I dont know about the product you are talking about however, if the user is on BT, you could pay the £1:75/month (I think price is correct) for caller display and then buy a phone that can block/barr calls.
You can pick these up for around £25.
Hope this helps

Certainly no extra charges bar the BT £1.75 a month for caller display .0 -
No, its a seperate box from the phone, listed as a seperate now dissolved company.M.A.C.A.W member number 39

If your friend is confused, are you certain that is costing £26 per month? These call screening boxes (True Call etc) are normally purchased for an outright sum of up to £100, not on a subscription basis.
Call Guardian is featured on certain BT branded handsets and was launched last Autumn. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Could she have been signed up for a product designed for Care Agencies ?
If this is not it then get her to stop the payments and see what happens !0
