New Build Nightmare

Hello,
Would be great to hear peoples thoughts on my current predicament.
I am in the middle of buying a new build and have paid the £2k deposit but missed the 21 day contract exchange deadline (it was a month and a half ago). The developer was quite understanding but is now starting to get annoyed saying that the deals off if we don't exchange by Friday.
This would be fine but I am not sure which solicitors are causing the delay, as mine are saying the sellers sols haven't sent the contracts or answered the enquiries, but the sellers sols are saying they have and sent everything to my sols several times!
Is very frustrating so I am now trying to get the sellers sols to send their email correspondence to me so that I can forward it and make sure my sols get it. Not ideal but if the sellers really have sent everything then it shouldn't be an issue.
Should I continue to put pressure on my sols or is it likely the developer is taking me for a ride and wants to keep my £2k deposit and put the flat back on the market?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Start with your own sol, set up a meeting, go through everything that has been done so far, and what still needs doing, what they are waiting for etc...
Sounds like a typical slow solicitor problem rather than anything to do with a new build. We actually sacked our solicitor as they were so slow...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Thanks for the reply. Yes having read reviews on my solicitor there are quite a few saying that they are slow so maybe that's the route to go down. So frustrating, when your paying someone so much money you expect to get a good service. No other services industry would get away with this level of incompetence!0
