Hi Has anyone heard anything lately about this scam. I signed this by mistake in 2014 have been ignoring letters since, they have threatened to take me to the European High Court, I got advice from trading standards to ignore. I have not heard anything since November 17,then yesterday I received an email from Colin Smith acting on behalf of his client UK Corp portal demanding £2900 or legal proceedings will begin. I also had two calls from someone. I am just wondering how or if anyone has this still going on, or if anyone had been taken to court. I am very concerned this has still not gone away after 5 years.

Hi sorry to see your thread also, but just wondering if you got this resolved. I have received emails and calls from them yesterday demanding money. I signed this in 2014 and still it is continuing.

Did he say which court they would take you to?

Did he explain why he was sending a Letter Before Action by email rather than by post (which the court process would expect from a represented litigant)?

It's all bluff and bluster - worry about it IF actual court papers appear.

Thank you, received another email today. Looks legitimate from a debt collection in Prague. I don’t even know how they got my email address, I am sure this is against GDPR.

Google them - a couple of lengthy threads on another forum with everyone agreeing it's a scam. Like I said, there's no such thing as the "European High Court" so why would a legitimate body be threatening to take you there?

If the creditor had your contact details there's no reason why they can't pass them to their debt collectors. But given the whole thing's a scam, I'd hardly expect them to be complying with GDPR anyway.
