Switching question

I tried a number of weeks ago to switch from co-op to Halifax but it failed as I didn't realise I couldn't switch from a joint to a sole so fast forward, co-op account converted it's all going ahead and my switch date is Wednesday 18th feb :T

Anyhow my question is this. Do I need to inform anyone? Insurance? Wages? Tax credits? Or can I literally sit back and do nothing? It all seems a bit of good to be true :p

Overdrafts and CPA (continuous payment authority) won't switch, everything else should be ok.

CPAs are often used for magazine, beauty products, slimming products etc subscriptions - probably nothing you would miss or couldn't easily re-instate without penalties if the payments stopped. Everything important will be switched by your new bank. If they are unable to switch a DD or payee, they will tell you.

Usually the pay day loan people use them, Paypal you would need to update to add either your new card or bank account.

Great thanks Colsten & NM I have changed the details on Amazon and Paypal. Have also seen that Halifax have moved all of my direct debits over now so I have cross referenced all of them with my list and they all appear to be there :)

Should be fine, even if they pay in to your old account they will automatically be re directed for the next 13 months.

I switched on the 11th with wages due on the 13th (too late for me to manually inform them) and the wages arrived fine and they have confirmed they had the new bank details.

Anything that would have got paid into your old account will be paid into your new account for the next 13 months. In addition, the payers will be informed of your new bank details.

You may wish to want to inform anyone paying money into your bank account of your new account details yourself.

Did you read up about the current account switch before you asked for it? Did you read any of the information your new bank did send you? Are you reading anything we post here? Just asking.

So did you? It's a bit rude not to answer questions.
