Inland Revenue Pension Swindle

When I retired some 14 years ago, I found that the contributions I'd made whilst working for the then IR (now HMRC) were disallowed as being 2 weeks short of the required 2 year period for any benefit to accrue. Fair enough but to add insult my contributions were not refundable either.
At the time there seemed to be many people caught in the same trap- no pension and no refund.
Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of any change in the intervening years.
Have contacted the current administrator for CS pensions but not hopeful of any response.
