    I think the grace period also applies to receiving the letter. But you're not paying it anyway so it doesn't matter.

    There are stricter requirements regarding liability of the keeper, which they can potentially screw up in sending the letter (you have to receive it within certain dates and it must be formatted correct), so you may as well let them do that and see if they make it even less enforceable. Plus you'll cost them another 50p.

    If it's wrong, there's no keeper liability and no case. Of course both the PPC and their appeals service will disagree, but the court shouldn't and they know that.

    That was my thought process.

    I'm right in saying I shouldn't be doing any of this until I receive paper letters rather than just the windscreen ticket right?

    Even though that means I miss out on the £60 "grace" period.

    That's good to know. I've been reading the newbies guide and numerous cases on here so far and hadn't sussed that.
