  • Good Morning everyone, it's my baby's 31st birthday today, where on earth has the time gone??? Grey and damp here today but not as cold as it has been and we're off in a minute to look at flooring for the bathroom and new carpet for the smaller back bedroom, I'm going relatively neutral coloured for both as then we can change wall colour more easily if we want to. Had a lovely time playing with the slow cooker yesterday and made the discovery that you can cook a scone topping in there on top of the meat that is delicious and light little clouds of yumminess by putting the heat to high and cooking them for the last hour of cooking time, oh my, they are incredibly good!

Have yourselves a really nice day everyone, Lyn xxx.
  • Grey and damp here today as well :(

I have just finished sewing up the first baby cardi that I have been knitting for DD's friend and have started on another onea hat, mitts and booties. I am doing various sizes starting from a 14" chest, also I have a lovely pattern for a shawl. It has been hard going because of my hands and my sight, but I am determined to do it.

Have physio this afternoon, I hate the woman I seeat the GP surgery, she works for a private company Circle and this will probably be the last time I go, I will just phone the physio at the hospital and go back there, even DH said if I don't get on with her what is the point of going, he will gladly take me every week to London if necessary.

Oh well must go and get a shower then some lunch before I go :(

  • Wet and grey here today, I will be so glad when spring is here.

Had a lovely day yesterday, the 3 grandchildren came to tea, together with DGD1s boyfriend and DD1. It is DGS 18th birthday on Wednesday and Himself's 71st birthday tomorrow, so there was exchanging of gifts and cards and much chattering. It is so lovely now that they are grown up, DGD2 is the youngest at 15 and it is great to hear all their news

Have cleaned the windows in the sitting room and Himself has helped me move the furniture around, I like a change but it has confused the cat.

Dumpling I hope the weigh in is OK, but you have had a very good reason if it is not favourable. I hope you are all coping with the loss of Meg, I know very much how it feels. I truely believe there is a "doggy heaven" and I believe they are all having a wonderful time .

  • Hi everyone, I am a serial lurker just popping in to say that I am following the MarieKondo thread and I know that Hester does a lot of sewing and I have about 20 patterns that I collected from Prima magazine that I am getting rid of. If you want them PM me an address to send them to and I will pop them in the post.

I shall now revert back to lurkdom!!
  • Judi have just seen the photograph, they are all such beautiful babies, I am sure it won't be long before he is adopted.

Is it May when you get to meet Soldier? Such exciting times

Yes, my daughter, her partner and Soldier will be over for my youngest daughters wedding in May. They will be staying in my youngest daughters house whilst they are on honeymoon.

The babys name is 'Blessing'. What a lovely name. The Mother named him and was distraught to give him up for adoption. Maybe she will change her mind. Babies that are abandoned never go back to their families but if the baby is given up for adoption they are allowed to go back if the Mother changes her mind. 2 or 3 babies that have come into their care have gone back to their Mothers/families.

  • Morning all,

Had a lovely Chinese meal at a local restaurant last night which was to celebrate the 50th birthday of a close friend.

Been and had the first part of the root canal redo done. He was pretty vigorous with the filing and he said it would be a bit sore for a couple of days. Need to go back in a couple of weeks to finish it.

DH suggested going to London tomorrow to look for a MOTB outfit for me. Bless him, it's a lovely thought but I really don't like the idea of trying to shop with all those blessed people!

I don't blame you; I don't do London. At all. Ever.

When we got married, Mr LW would have happily taken me to London to look for a wedding dress, but I declined - couldn't get anything I liked in MK; I saw one dress that I liked, but when I tried it, it had a rubberised grippy bit which would have driven me potty, so that was a "no". Finally got my dress in Northampton.

Can you look on t'internet in the first instance, to narrow down the sort of thing you'd like, to reduce the footwork involved?
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
