Could an Office 365 University subscription from the US, be activated at a UK Uni?

Hi all,
I was interested in grabbing a MS Office 365 Uni subscription, and notice that they tend to be cheaper on eBay. The ones located in the US seem to be cheaper still, but Would they activate without any problems, with a UK university email address, or do these tend to be country specific?
Thanks in advance!

I don't know the answer to your question, and I'm not sure that I'd risk it when a subscription for a legit UK version can be had for 4 years / 2 PC / unlimited other devices for under £55 - I know, because I bought it a few weeks ago from Software4students.0

Managed to grab one for £20 off eBay!
Used the office home upgrade trick to upgrade to 5 user accounts! Incredible!!!0 -
......until Microsoft realise the same seller has been selling the same licence over and over again and they now have a 100 or so people using the same single licence code - whereupon they will simply block it.0

Agree with Uxb I got office 2010 of ebay installed activated then 6 months later MS blocked it when they realised it been sold and sold0

Its less than £60 retail, why risk a dodgy serial number?
For what you get its a steal at that price.0 -
I don't know if the U.S. version will work but the UK one is advertised as needing a .ac.uk email address to activate it so I'd imagine the U.S. one would need the U.S. equivalent to activate and a .ac.uk would be no good.
It may be worth speaking to student services at your uni/college as they can sometime get special offers on office software, a friend got an office uni license for £30 last year through her uni's software for students scheme.
Another option could be the my uni days app, they sometimes have discount codes that can be used for software at certain retailers.
Even at full price £60 is a very good price for what you get.0 -
Your University may offer it through their IT service for free - MIcrosoft are pushing this very strongly.
A lot definitely do and a few examples are :
