Was this allowed in the end?
I'm on the homeswapper website and although I am looking for a 1 bed I have been approached by someone else with a 2 bed. It's so much more suitable for me, closer to my parents etc
However I don't actually require a 2 bed (I'm leaving a two bed) though could get another lodger.
I know it used to be the case that you could get one more room than you require but with all the changes I was wondering if that had changed too. That and the fact of being on HB.
I hope this doesn't draw judgement from some. It really puts me off this board.0 -
Hi
It completely depends on the area you live and the housing association/council you are under. We allow an under occupancy by 1 bedroom but that is not automatic. We take all sorts of things into consideration first.
Have you asked your HA what they policy is?£2 Savers Club #156!
Looking for holiday ideas for 2016. Currently, Isle of Skye in March, Riga in May, Crete in June and Lake District in October. August cruise cancelled, but Baby due September 2016! :j0 -
There'd be no problem with you getting the two bedroomed house but the Council would need good reason to move the single man to a two bed flat as far as I am aware.0
