PCP...A good deal?

I seen similar comments about Lings cars and it looks good, and they come back fast with quotes(during opening hours), although most of the prices are available to see.
Other's that I've found are going through Whatcar website, there is a tab for leasing and they give you prices from different dealers around the country, you can add in your postcode at the beginning for local deals. If there are no deals that suit, you can send email enquiries away to dealers from that point, most come back quickly.
Another one that is good is Nationwide Vehicle Contracts based in Manchester, they have specials going regularly.
These are all for leasing (personal contract hire) rather than a PCP(personal contract purchase - the one with balloon payments at the end).
I just got offered a Honda Civic Tourer 1.8 petrol for £226 per month over 3 years, or £248 over 2 years and based on 20k miles per annum through the Whatcar site, i've not seen any prices anywhere close to that anywhere else, albeit this is 2014 stock clearance and choice is limited, but there are deals to be had and well worth watching over a few weeks, especially as the new registrations are out in a couple of weeks. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
Based on the information given i would be surprised if a leasing company couldn't beat that price for an A-Class
Google "Car Leasing" and you will find dozens of company's who can help, and most will have a section showing the pro's and cons of the different contracts.
It all depends on what you plan to do at the end of the contract. If you want to buy the Car then a PCP may be more attractive. But if you plan on handing it back or "trading it in" then a Lease (PCH) may be the way to go.0 -
Lings are very good.
Used them a few times, very good experience.0 -

I think they are all good for special offers which are usually all different, but I've noticed Lings expensive for some cars, but cheaper for others, so it does really depend on what you're looking for, if you decide what car you really want (probably a Merc A Class) then once you have that shop around the different sites, email for quotes etc, check out your insurance costs based on that car, then you'll be set to make an informed choice. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

Whats your mileage for that price and where, sounds a really good deal. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
10K per annum from Fleetprices. Think the deal had gone the last time I looked but always worth checking back regularly. Car available in white, white or white.0

I'm quite interested in getting a Personal Lease for my next car. Even though I understand the figures, I've not had one before.
Can I ask:-
1. How would I dispose of my old (owned) car? What's the best way to move over to the lease without being without a car? Should I overlap them? If my lease vehicle is being delivered via a local dealership, would they be likely to offer a reasonable trade?
2. What's GAP insurance in the context of a Lease? Is it to cover you for the difference in value between an insurance payout for a write-off and the leasing company's interest?0
