courier refund

Hello, I'm struggling to get a refund from a courier I paid to deliver some stuff for me. He failed to carry out job stating bad weather and being let down by another client. I was offered full refund, but after 8 weeks I am still waiting. I have contacted him several times and have been told refund was sent. I have had no money returned to my account. What should be my next step as I'm getting nowhere with calls and emails.

Some more info would be useful. Which courier, how did you contract them, what terms and conditions do they have?0

How did you pay?
Credit card, cost over £100 - S75 claim.
Credit card, cost under £100, or debit card - Chargeback
Anything else - LBA and Small Claims.
