Shillingford Bridge Hotel does look really nice from the outside so hope you can get something sorted out there!
We have provisionally booked the date we wanted and I have a meeting with the wedding co-ordinator next week to discuss figures etc and so on. Looks like we have a venue people! :j :jDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

OOh, I hope you like it there. I went to look at it and h2b and I decided we didn;t like it...the lawn seemed to be very open to the public with a car park between it and the venue, and we thought it looked a bit shabby:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I too, was going to suggest one of the colleges at the University.
Radley College also has a nice looking building:

In Abingdon, you can also rent the Guildhall: http://www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk/Leisure_and_arts/vale_halls_to_hire/abingdon_guildhall.asp, which is nothing too spectacular, but clean and neat. It's also right next to the Abbey ruins though, which make for a spectacular before/after ceremony "mingling", photo spot, etc.Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0
