working tax credit form help?

Hi all, i am attempting to fill in the working tax credit form but im getting myself into a pickle, any help would be very very much appreciated!
1.
I work 27.5 hours a week and earn less than 10k, am I able to claim as it is less than 30 hours?
2. At the end of April I should be able to work 5 more hours weekly, is it worth waiting until then to fill in my form?
3. In the 2013-14 tax year I was working but became a full time student (a year long course). Ive been in my current job since oct which I would like the calculations to be based on but the form just asks for my 2013-14 earnings. Once again is it worth waiting for april and a new tax year?
4. I live with my partner(unmarried). He's also been a student and being paid for by his parents while weve lived together and hasnt worked until this financial year. He has just declared himself as self employed (after jan 31st) and is working hard with his business and beginning to do well but together we are still earning a low income.
Does he need to be on my form? The reason i'm asking is because he doesnt have much earning history to record and currently his income and hours are continuously changing. If he does need to be on the form should he estimate the hours and income that he thinks he will be earning? Or should we wait until things are more stable for him for work to fill in the form? Could I fill in my form without him now and add him when his self -employed situation is more sorted?
Sorry if these are silly questions, i have tried to ask hmrc but ive struggled to get through So thanks for any help you can give!

Thank you so much for your answer. I assume it is probably best to wait until we have a clearer picture of our joint finances then.0

He often does but it isn't consistent at the moment which is why I thought it would be better for me to do it for me as I have set hours. I've had a chat with him and he needs to do a self assessment for April so it looks like we should be able to get it sorted then.
Thanks again.0
