Hello, bought myself a pair of tp link homeplugs with 2 ethernet inputs and outputs and they worked pretty much out of the box.
By using a desktop switch i can feed pc, sky and a smart tv from one ethernet lead running from my router....however when i add a 2nd ethernet cable from router to master homeplug, the homeplug upstairs stops working.
Anyone any ideas why that would be?

Yes you can only have one ethernet cable going from the router to the homeplug. You can have several slave homeplugs...they'll all share the same ethernet cable to the router adding another ethernet cable will cause a loop. Some router's can handle this and not use the second one so most people don't see a problem. Sometimes both cables won't be used so the homeplug upstairs can't see the router at all. Just leave it as one cable.:footie:

Thanks....I noticed some homeplugs only had one input on the master socket and wondered why this particular brand had two.
Seems to work well enough with one cable and the desktop switch so will leave well alone.0
