Tax Credit NHS Exemption Certificate

Hi All

My NHS Exemption Certificate has expired and I haven't yet received a new one. I wasn't late sending my tax credit renewal form (did it weeks and weeks ago).

Is anyone else having the same problem? Also, I hardly dare ask it, but does anyone know whether you no longer get one if your income rises to a certain level?

I am currently having weekly physio and claiming the travel expenses - so far they have been fine with me just taking my award letter with me. But it is worrying me!

  • Last year I had this, the old one expired in April and I didn't get a new one until June. In the meantime my tax credits award letter was fine.
I think it's if your income goes up to over £15k you are no longer exempt... might be wrong so please check that.
  • Just come off the 'phone (0845 300 3900) with the same query -

From my 'research' the ceiling appears to be £15,050 gross pa -

I'm just off to Lutons Drop In Centre to collect a HC1 form which helps you claim back part or all of your NHS expenses - if they haven't closed this wonderful facility yet

Doh! Oh well I think that may explain it as my income is now over £16K. I think I may just double check that but it sounds like I need to get a HC1 form then.
