Have another cup of coffee and think it through. You are switching your old account. It gets closed. So where else than into your new account would you like your salary to be paid to?

If you think there might be switching horror stories, why did you not look for them before you started switching your account?

If you want belts and braces: nothing stops you from giving your employer your new bank details.

Also, please read the current account switching guarantee.

You'v asked for horror stories, so no doubt somebody will post some, which will reinforce your fear. Why didn't you ask for re assurance from people who have successfully used the switching service, which I have no doubt will vastly out number the people who have problems.

People don't make posts about success as that's the expected outcome so its easier to find problems which inflates the perceived frequency of said problems.

I recently switched my main account and the switching was due to complete on the 11th, my salary was due on the 13th. You know what happened? The switch occurred and my salary arrived as expected in my new account on the 13th.

Not feisty, just trying to reassure you, I get the feeling however you don't care and even if 99 people post no problems, you will jump on the one post where somebody did have a problem and run around screaming and worrying about your own switch.

This place is a bit too grumpy for my liking

Sorry if you were looking for sensationalist horror stories and are now disappointed. You don't get them here (except from trolls). It's just good, down to earth, factual comments in the main.
