Conveyancing delays and going direct?

Quick question here.
Whilst my solicitor is doing a great job, my seller/sellers solicitor is proving infuriatingly slow. It took three weeks to get the draft contract and enquiry forms (which were only half filled out), and I've now been waiting two weeks on a simple enquiry about who provides waste water to the property.
I can't understand why such a simple request is taking so long and I know my conveyancer is chasing at least weekly for the details. I've already tried to give them a sense of urgency by setting a target completion date for the 16th March.
It's so frustrating being unable to speed things along myself - so my question is:
Is it ever acceptable to chase the seller's solicitor myself? Is there anything I can do to push them along?

The seller's solicitor will not deal with you - you are not his/her client.
The best you can do is get on to the estate agent and start nagging them to get on the case otherwise they risk the sale falling through due to the vendor's / vendor's solicitor's inactivity - putting their commission at risk.0 -
As tizerbelle says, you cannot speak to the seller's solicitor.
However it sounds like it is the seller that is being slow to respond:enquiry forms (which were only half filled out), and I've now been waiting two weeks on a simple enquiry about who provides waste water to the property.
Contact the estate agent and ask them to contact the seller to find out whether they have responded to their solicitor. Until they do, their solicitor cannot respond to yours.0
