The debit card is sent automatically so that's no indicator. But they make final checks on an online application in the 3-4 working days after you get that decision so after then you can assume all is OK.0 -

The £1,500 is just what you need to pay in each month to avoid the £5 monthly fee, so that in itself shouldn't make a difference.'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.' (Bob Monkhouse).

If you apply in branch you're more likely to 'bypass' those sort of checks that are done on online applications

No problem going in to bank & opening a joint account this afternoon,no awkward questions , or answers. I need to visit again when I want to open a further 2accounts, & the manager did the internet access banking for us as well, thanks for the help guys & galls.0 -
I am considering this account - as I have some savings maturing soon which need a home and the 4% rate for £5k good.
I have an old cash account with Lloyds (not a main account but a spare) - just wondering if its better to ask to upgrade that or just open a new account entirely. The cash account has a few small Direct debits on it - so it would be easier to upgrade as the club lloyds account needs 2DDs for the interest.
I have seen circumstances before where cash account upgrades get rejected. So is it better to upgrade the cash or apply for a totally new account - probably won't matter but no harm asking for advice?0 -

Halifax Reward Account has now been open for over 10 days, debit card & PIN received as well as a welcome letter. My wife should be on track to collect her first fiver next week (DDs should come out on Friday if all goes as planned).
I still don't understand why it was a decline for the Lloyds Club. Makes no sense.
If I was to apply in my sole name (I have decent income / never missed a payment on credit cards, mortgage), would the previous decline of my wife (which would get searched as a linked financial association) impact my application in a negative way? I.e. should I hold off for a few months?0 -
I was also declined a club lloyds account recently online. I asked the bank to explain why, and they couldn't. They offered to try again in branch. It turned out that experian were not able to locate an address for me, but a manual search using a different credit reference agency came back fine. Despite my having a mortgage and an account with the halifax (ie another brand of the same group). They opened the account for me in the end, but it was a little like pulling teeth!0
