Saturday 14th, Sunday 15th February - What small DFW things will you do this weekend?

Options
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending .

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

  • Good morning!

Hope I haven't cross posted a new start with someone else!

Feeling a whole ton better today. Bailey's Babe I had the same thing. Hadn't felt right for a few days then bang, totally exhausted. A day of doing absolutely nothing (except eating too much!) has put paid to it and I feel so much better. I hope all the other sicklings on here are recovering too.

    My DFW Saturday...
    • Update Money
    • Make sure all credit cards that can be paid now are paid.
    • Tidy the house!!! A few days "man down" and it turns into a pigsty
    • Make the bestest, most delicious Garlic Butter Chicken possible for my beautiful OH (or better still, convince the kids to)
    • Continue Laundry catch up

I think that will do today. No point in over doing it.

Hope you all have great days!

Morning all :)Oops realised that by the time I had finished posting it was actually the afternoon....
Thanks for starting the thread Tash.

Busy morning - got up early and went to Lidls, then to my sales unit to tidy up and put some bits in. Washing out on line. Hoovered lounge carpet and am currently trying to motivate myself to get on and do the hard floors and stairs, but have come to a bit of a halt now :o

Apart from that I need to:
    Check banks Done
Have some more of yesterday'a HM soup for lunch in a minute Done, still enough for tomorrow :D
Sort out some more books for another possible Amazon Trade in :)Done, managed to find £11.46 worth, and have packed them and sent them off. OH and I have decided to get rid of the dust collecting bookshelves in the lounge, where most of the books are at the moment. I have freed up quite a bit of space elsewhere through all my decluttering though, and will sort through the books properly when we get them down, and put them in 'keep', 'charity' and 'hang onto for sale' piles.
General tidy and continue with decluttering and sorting Done, hoovered hard floors and did some dusting, and decluttered some more books
Poorly DD is bound to turn up at some point with poorly baby for me to look after :( There is a horrible cold / flu type bug going around which I guess is what poorly peeps on here have been suffering from :(They both had a sleep instead :)

Updated my GC total, and todays spends leave me only £50 of my budget to last till the end of the month :eek:Now that WILL be a challenge!!

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Happy Valentines Day everyone, I hope the lack of posts means youre all enjoying breakfast in bed!

The slightly annoying tickly cough I've had for days has finally manifest itself as a full blown chesty cough and my first lie in has made my back ache from sleeping awkwardly due to sloping bed and rota of cats sleeping under the covers.

Last night's minimal online shop didn't go quite as planned as it ended up at £80 but I have a new and dastardly plan... I changed the delivery slot from today until tomorrow and I plan to print it out and take it to Aldi with me today to compare prices and then I have time to cancel anything I can find cheaper.

Brunch today will be eggs on toast as I'm back on the dieting wagon from today, I've lost a dress size since boxing day (now a size 18) and want to lose another 2 or possibly even 3 by November. I'm actually happiest at a size 16 but I love a charity shop and all the best clothes are always in the smaller sizes and I think I'm going to need every ounce of confidence looking for bookings come November. I heard about more redundancies at a publisher I used to occasionally work for which means even more good people on the freelance market. I'm not the only one with a contingency plan though, a friend and colleague is making plans to rent her house and leave the country which makes my downsizing plans seem far less radical!
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10

  • Hi!

Although I've been hammering my debts down a lot over the last few months (due to temporary situation with much less outgoings!) It really sunk in yesterday that unless I start to be better with money I will just end up the same way!

    So my small things are:
    - properly setting up a budget with YNAB. Ok, this isn't really a small thing, as hopefully a budget is the key to changing my spending ways.
    - continue unsubscribing to emails to avoid temptation
    - Saturday night out within a budget!

    I'm actually quite excited!:)
