NAtionwide Flex Plus requirements?

Hey all,

I'm trying to get my banking fine tuned and like the look of nationwides flex plus for the breakdown and insurance cover.

Can anyone confirm the only requirements is the £10 charge?

I cant see anything that shows it needs minimum deposit or any direct debits.

So in theory i could load it with £120 for the year and just take the benefits?

I'm actually planning on putting £2500 in it to get the 3% interest.

If this is the case i can move my natwest account (which i currently have for the above) save £6 a month

That's how I'm using it, no direct debits out and no extra money going in to it.

Yup - and the other thing it's useful for is fee free foreign cash withdrawals (note that purchases are not fee free - but you can get the Select card for purchases).

You must also complete a full switch.

I have my FlexPlus account solely for the benefits. 3% interest is nice too.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

In terms of benefits this is one of the best out there. No only do you get the usual breakdown cover and travel insurance - but covering family members too and anyone driving your car(s) with permission. It even covers you if you are a passenger in someone else's car and they have a breakdown.

There is also free 12 months extended warranty on electrical goods - and this even includes laptops and tablets.

For £10 a month - if you travel a lot and have a car its great value. And there is 3% interest too.

And if you join/switch via TCB the first eight months are potentially free!
  • nice thanks all, nice bonus with the cash back :)

got a further £36 with opening my santander
