    Good morning everyone

Managed to have a bit of a lie-in this morning but hubby had to go into work very early poor thing. DD12 is sat next to me on her dad's computer and DD's13 and 14 are still in bed.

I am planning a very quiet day here just catching up on the never ending washing and planning my next weeks meals for me and the family. I had a bad couple of days with my eating but I have decided that it is no way to go on. It won't bring Meg back and it's not even comforting me as I feel so guilty after eating rubbish. My goal was to get fit and healthy enough to take her out for a walk and even though she's not with us any longer, I still want to get out of the house eventually without having a panic attack. And maybe in the far distant future there will be another puppy for us.

Sending snoozer a big ((((hug)))) as well. You sound like you have had a rough couple of weeks. It's my best friend's 1st anniversary of losing her son tomorrow and she is all over the place too.

Well done redruby on winning your award. It can't have been easy to have stayed calm. I saw lots of staff getting assaulted when I was on the psychiatric unit many years ago, very frightening for the staff and the patients too.

Hope your valentine's day is special if you are celebrating it, me and hubby have decided not to bother this year, I'm very lucky, he tells me he loves me every day and he often buys me flowers or little presents :happyhear

Well that's all for now, have a brilliant day whatever you are up to, take care xx
  • Morning all.
Hubby was dropped at work at 8:30, then I collected DD & took her to work. I went to the bakers to buy some rolls & one of the customers had been to see 50 shades & was regaling the entire shop with a review of the plot!
DGD woke up around 1ish & wanted to make cakes, I persuaded her to go back to bed & she slept through until 7:30. We've made cakes & played cafe's she's now watching Peppa Pig whilst I have cuppa in peace.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Judi - you are not alone!! I am another who can't seem to say no! My DD has three girls (aged 4, 6 and 10) and I am 69 in a couple of weeks. Childminding gets harder as you get older - that's why we have our own children when we are much younger!! Trouble is my DD doesn't seem to realise this and we find ourselves being increasingly put upon. I know it's hard for her on her own with the 3 of them (marriage break up 2 years ago) and we do our bit to help out by having them for tea, sleep over and school run when she is on an early start. But it's all the extra phone calls that I find it's hard to say no to!! Err mum, are you doing anything, could you just have the girls while I do this, that or the other she'll say! The daft thing is I always say yes when really I want to shout NO!! My DS, who rarely asks us to do anything, goes mad and says we shouldn't feel guilty for saying no to her just now and then!

Anyway hope all goes well with the meet up! xx

  • :hello: good afternoon everyone,

I am sorry to hear about Meg, so sad. also hugs to anyone who needs them.

It seems to have been so dull and grey for so long that it is getting people down. Is wet and grey here today, so washing going on the airers.

I am making a loaf of bread and have a pork casserole in the slow cooker for tonight's dinner.

Need to pop out for a bit of shopping, DH hasn't been paid for last week's work, so it is going to be literally a few bits. Luckily I try to keep some stores in, so I can usually manage to make a few meals thankfully.

Had a few nice things happen to us though. Yesterday got a £12 credit back from the energy company so will keep us warm this weekend. I also won a multi pack of snacks, so redeemed the voucher yesterday, then today I won some Whittards's posh hot chocolate in a fb competition, so I think things are looking up.:j

When we pop out later we are going to look at a new development of houses nearby and see what they are like, as we need to move at some point this year.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Keep smiling!:):):)

Hugs to dumpling and snoozer :grouphug:

Middle DD stayed over last night so made her a breakfast before she set off back home. Won't see her again till mid week as she has lots of studying to do and extra work at work IYLWIM.

Made DH cooked brekkie and then we had an MandS deal for lunch. Have kept the two large shells to use for seafood at home on another occasion.

Having a quiet day and will get my cleaning head on on Monday as we have visitors on Friday and Thursday will be at the hospital.

Finished the last two dining chair seats for DD and the stapler has left me with a blister so that is a good excuse for resting the hand ;)

Pleased with the dresses I ordered in the sale and only have one to send back.

Now all I need to do is Kondo some of my weight and try to get DH to get a bit more meat on his bones. ;)
