Suggestions please as to what we can do with ourselves in the Lake District midweek in March – 2 adults with a small budget

    - short walk to Lanty's Tarn above Patterdale/Glenridding, easy walking, and take your own lunch/picnic
    - Ullswater steamer to Pooley Bridge, lovely pub in Pooley, then steamer back
    - Pencil Museum, Keswick, is fun and quirky
    - for a nice pub meal, try the Travellers in Glenridding
    - walk along Grisedale, as far as you want, then return same way; dead-level so easy for non-walkers
    - Gummers Howe near Windermere, park at car park and (very short) walk to summit, see all of Lakeland in miniature, and it was this veiw that made Wainright fall in love with the Lakes
    - Muncaster Castle, to west, gardens won't be at their best but you can tour the house (most haunted castle in the country, apparently)

Has anyone bought BNI tikka today as I can't see it on Msm comparing to As where as I can see the korma and jalfrezi so just wondered if it's still safe to buy?
    Tia :)

Would have had the answer to this but I just popped into a random Metro on the way home to find that this one does not stock BNI. How very dare they not!

Being as I was there I got some Cad medium eggs £3 for 4, 1 litre Paro bleach y/s at 68p, some 800g H/mann's mayo rtc at 1.80 with useby of Jan '16, and half price icecream amongst other things so all was not lost. Plus the till gave me a £6 off £40 moc :T.

    Afternoon all :)
Not having the best day here :( so decided to make some cakes :)
In my infinite wisdom last night I had a brainwave for how to use the out of date red icing I found in the cupboard.
Anyone care to guess what I'm making? :D (I will point out what's usually in my head isn't how things usually turn out :o )
Hopefully the pic isn't too big.
