Nothing gets past me whether male or female:D. I hope very little gets past me anyway. Another example - I was trying to remember it but just rediscovered it now - that those everyday prices are too high. The Scottish Mussels (fish counter) were £3.49/kg everyday "low" price over quite some time - they've now gone onto a £2.49/kg offer. They've even been on my list at £3.49/kg:eek::o:rotfl:. I think if anything has been on my list for many months, that must immediately now put it under suspicion as being on an everyday price which is way too high! We see some items eventually going down in price, on proper RTC offers (as opposed to the silly RTCs at high prices that appear from time to time) and that we should buy them at the end of that rather than any everyday pricing!
The advertising is obviously a very selective basket under which everything is always getting cheaper and nothing ever going up in price! It's not just M though. I walked in tonight and returned to a mailshot from TalkTalk - they've got a new "half price" for six months of £4.25:eek::eek::eek: a month.
:eek:I thought I saw £3.50 or even £3.25 last year as the "half price". Obviously gone up to a lot more expensive than before in between to now go back merely to £4.25! Really an expensive price IMO. Apparently it's now a "best deal" as well! In my view it can only be a best deal after all phone service providers have independently (and by watching each other) increased their prices significantly. It's not best compared to what it was before. And in my view it doesn't even qualify as best (which is obviously impliedly "best price") when it is compared to the prices of just three competitors, even though that detail is included in the small print.
They've compared it to BT, Sky and Virgin and it's supposedly the "best deal" on that basis. That, to my mind, is hardly enough to show that it is the best deal available. I doubt that it is the best deal and, although we haven't had an Advertising Standards investigation into this to say that it isn't, I'm so cynical as to not believe it and I suspect, if it was investigated, it would be judged misleading.
And, whilst I was in M thinking about the everyday low prices being high, on came an advertisement over the loudspeakers, that they wanted to have the best deal possible. On some alcohol pack, presumably 20 can pack, I forget which, I obviously wasn't paying enough attention. The best deal "possible"? £11:eek:. In my view it's not the best "possible" at all as it has been "possible" to have it at £10 sometime before, unless for some reason that's not "possible" now?
But then, a little time before, I'd past a couple in the cleaning aisles - and the man seemed like one of those folks off "Eat Well for Less" (BBC TV), just appeared to be grabbing a lot of items off the shelves - oh, we need that, and picking up another aerosol spray at £1 a time! They appeared to have no list - always a bad idea - and just picking up whatever had a small offer on it.0 -

I'm reinstating the salad creams back at vs 15p (and then price adjusted) for M as I've had some stock delivered to one of my stores and they are still around there. However, they could be more risky as they are, again, not available in the other store. The Mayonnaise (25p) could be more risky, as I've only had the Light version available in my store for some weeks now and both had disappeared from the other store. The Salad Creams and the Mayonnaises are probably both past their best moment for being picked up on the APG.0
