Glade Bali Jasmine Sandalwood Candle, was £1.48 last time in M, now £5! So, if anyone did want to see whether the APG ever picked up the £1.48, then you would have to go quick!

In M, I think we are best avoiding the "Everyday low price" items. I now have the Butternut Squash with a big "Everyday low price" label in one of my Ms. It's 89p. Was 69p two weeks ago - and, now, it's even more expensive than Aldi!

The price increase, to this everyday "higher than previous" price that M calls an everyday low price, is a little like the M own brand Pink Salmon tins, that were £1 a couple of weeks ago, and are currently back onto everyday "low" price £1.15:eek:. As I said before, very briefly, I think that everyday prices must be too high if they can afford to keep them at those prices (and so make profit from them). The own brand eggs, several of which were ridiculous prices in M, went onto everyday allegedly-low price a few weeks ago - still more expensive than A's prices! I think the Savers mixed eggs 6 pack are again a penny cheaper than A, and are on "Everyday low price", but still not as cheap as A's previous price that they went up from on the S/P version was. So, avoid! Were 55p in A in January, now 10% off M's 79p is more expensive.

Fresh milk on "everyday low price" but still more expensive than A. Several of the Nescafes, including Gold Blend, went onto everyday "low" price, but, again, not mentioned at all by me until as the everyday low prices are way too high - prices like £2:eek:/100g and even £2.50/100g:eek: I think. Prices of £1.67/100g might approach being good but, even there,:eek:a cheaper price of £1.63/100g is the price on the Nescafe Original jar 300g in A at expensive £4.89:eek: (given that price on the 200g + ex free = 300g was £3.99 in M - £1.33/100g! Albeit that that was 'Everyday low price' - piggybacking off the price of the straight 200g at £3.99 in M - it seems the 'ex.free' jars may be OOS now and the everyday prices on all the others, including the 200g, are too expensive IMO - and I'm having none at expensive £2/100g!).

I think the most striking example though is the Gordon's Gin (1L) - was on £15 offer last week. Now on "everyday low price" £18.99:eek::eek:. £3.99 more!_pale_ May still work out at £13.50 on the APG - a full £5.49 lower than M's everyday "low" price - but will have to be very quick as would need to beat the APG update.

The Stew Packs with Parsnip are going from 99p/kg to £1.14/kg - old packs still around at 99p but new ones at £1.14 - and it seems the large packs of Beef Braising Steak that were needed to get the Stew Packs "free" may have gone down a little a price this week:rotfl:, now that the combo. offer isn't on - I think it may work out about the same price as before - avoid and don't bother with the expensive beef - may get a 99p stew pack, alone, if you find that.

The Tiger Baguette is going back to straight 50p. So, same price as before if you were buying 2 for £1. (Remember APG not yet updated!)

M are having an "event" on some frozen food. Sadly not the type of "ice creams at more reasonable prices of 50p" event. Instead, some items, including some of the Quorn products on 3 for £5:eek::eek:. That's about £1.67 each!_pale_ Including some Quorn products that I would expect sometimes are on £1 offers.

So, now getting other people to buy three times over and pay 66p more on each one!:(

I am going to avoid this "event". Seems more like an event for them than for us. In fact, in one of my stores, they'd moved items out of one of the freezers, including items that were £1 last week, and replaced them by items on this 3 for £5 "event". I would rather have an item at 3 for £3, and thus pay £2 less, or even straight £1 and not have to buy two more, than this! It appears the Quorn Mince - the smaller 300g pack on everyday [Strike]low[/Strike] high price of £1.99:eek: is on this "event" - just shows how high those everyday "low" prices are and then on a supposed offer of expensive £1.66...x3! At the same time that, apparently, the Quorn Mince 500g, so 200g more, is at straight £1.40:T (according to the offer label and no stock at the freezer end in one of my stores). So, even after M's event, the 500g Mince works out cheaper than the 300g pack (of which three must be bought, or mix and match, to get the £1.66... pricing). Even though the SELs for the 500g Mince say £2.99:rotfl:. There is an issue, therefore, and I would not be trying T PP on these, because it appears the individual SEL with B/C of product says £2.99 in the Ms I've seen, which I suspect is what gets picked up under price promises, even though a big offer label of £1.40 elsewhere in the store exists.

It also seems the Quorn Chicken Style Burgers have gone from 93p to £1.99:eek:. It's not clear to me precisely what's on the event and not - there is a selection of different products showing on one promotional piece all in mix and match 3 for £5 but doesn't show any Quorns in that selection - in any event () I'd be avoiding 3 for £5! Fortunately, there are some frozen items on £1 and the like in M and these I might consider rather than the "event" items.

It's also possible that three packs of A 1Kg Carrots could compare vs a mbuy price in M on the next update. Though they 'should' not compare at all, as M's are 1.2Kg, however were comparing (against straight M price that applied in M) last time, i.e. that's the current situation, with no mbuy as M were not mbuy last Wednesday.

As for the 1Kg Onions, that are soon to be on 29p in Lidl!, they've also decided 3 for £1.50:eek: on those in M!:rotfl::rotfl: Also 500g Swedes, but I think I'd be more inclined to get F/Tastes packs of 500g Diced Swede in A and compare against just one in M. Whoopsies may be even cheaper.

Regarding the JF trigger (that was) and the lack of JF Elixir Oils in M, it's possible that the trigger together with the usual Full Repair Shampoos/Curl Around Shampoos etc. (Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery Shampoo N/A in A? Is that now a potential trigger?) could give full prices vs bog standard straight £4s on two in M.

The Finish dishwasher cleaner on my list, for example, is going off, also the Fairy liquid, but some own brand Dishwasher tablets now to go back on. Typhoo 240 teabags going on to £2.74. Some shavers too, but be careful of expensive refills later!:D;) As usual, lots more, later!

This week this basket will cost £11.50 more:eek::

Glade Candle Bali Sandalwood Jasmine £1.48 - now £5.00
Colgate Acti Clean toothpaste £1.00 - now £2.49:eek: (according to the SEL I have). A still 97p.
    Gordon's Gin £15.00 - now everyday "low" price £18.99
Douwe Egberts Classic Roast Instant Coffee 200g £2.49, now £4.99 (Avs T £2.50).

Has anyone been watching the One Show just and the article about the Common Cold Unit in Sailsbury - they concentrated on what they were doing there in the 1940s but it was much the same while I was there back in the early 1980s - great memories - recognised everything shown on the film clips

OMG - now I've got to think what I can wish for before Wednesday apart from the usual world peace and an end to all human suffering ...

A while ago I contacted McCains about the poor quality of some oven chips, and they very kindly sent me some MOCs (didn't even have to send the packaging or proof of purchase) - £12 in total:D So I'm still working my way through them.
