Mine too. The only way to get it above 19 is to leave the heating on high all day long for about a week. Gas costs way too much to do that for any length of time.
Luckily, my flat is small enough to have warm rooms (~20C). But my MIL always saves on a big house, so in her room she has... ~3 or 5C! She usually sits in other rooms having two cardigans and bathrobe on :) Well, this only happens, when temperature outside falls to -25C

    Morning all

I have underfloor heating on the whole of the downstairs and in all the bathrooms.. but it uses water. And it's fabulous!! Our heating bills are lower for our house then a much smaller house we lived in previously. I love finding the "hot spots" in the tiled kitchen and warming toes:rotfl: simple pleasures hey?! :D
When i go to MIL's with her tiled floor (and no underfloor heating), i almost freeze my socks off.

My first house had warm air heating and was brilliant. I didn't like it at first but quickly got used to it.

by the way, I'm pringle-less :D but i don't mind. They would just be tempting for me to munch on..

Our underfloor heating is water fed too. We had a leak and it took ages to find. The high water bill is what alerted us to it. Just seem to have had lots of problems with it :-(

Thanks for all the information about heating. I am going to replace my old double glazed unit, very draughty, with a triple glazed one. It will be interesting to see what that does to the room temperature.

Hoping to get the window change before we take out the underfloor hesting. Even if it makes that rooms warm the other front room will still be cold as it has 2 large windows.

Good afternoon Neosi how's the back hope you are feeling a tad better as is Lala ;)

Much better than this time last week but still in pain. Got a cancellation with the physio this morning which i was really pleased about cos my appointment wasn't untill the 11th ! Has given me exercises todo and plenty of advice. Its too early for any type of manipulation yet. He originally said to call and try for a cancellation again next week but since then the surgery has called me and he's fitted me in next week so its a relief to be on some regular treatment now.

Have come off one of the heavy duty meds but im still sleepy with the others, they do help me sleep through the night so wont complain, glad lala is on the mend

Glad to hear you are on the mend neosi. :)
  • I've got my friends four year old this afternoon. I've got some colouring for her to do in a bit, that should be fun :rotfl:

Be MSE and instead of wasting money on colouring books, get some coloured felt-tips, and colour each other in - now that sounds like fun:D
