    Morning peeps
just had a dreaded email from Sainsburys energy saying my direct debit would be going up to £249 with immediate effect :(
Rang up all guns blazing and moaned about the direct debit guarantee and ten working days notice.
They stopped the payment, offered me a much better tarrif, even though I'm on a fixed energy til october and I will save over £500 in the next year.
Best bit for me is that the current direct debit will stay the same and I should go into credit in the summer :T:T:T

He said anyone who took out a fixed deal before december should call as the lower gas prices mean new tariffs this year

    OMG - £249 a month

Where do these energy companies magic these figures from? What planet do they live on?
I have to submit our meter readings every month and they work out to the penny exactly what I owe them. Means cheaper bills in summer and much more expensive ones in winter but at least I'm never in credit or arrears.
Our average energy bill cost is about £100 a month. I think I'd have a heart attack if they suddenly asked for £249 per month
    Historic Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
    Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000
    Saving for Xmas 2022= . . Amazon £55

Mr A - cheaper than Iceland, but only when compared against T, grrr! Looks like that £1.15 is A's best price as well:eek:, as just gone down to that, very coincidental that I happened to look at this at this moment, but no good - wait till it goes back up and hope they haven't changed the SEL in time. That's if they change it to £1.15 in the first place - you may have a number of stores to choose from:rotfl:!

According to msm - not that these price graphs are accurate - last time it went to £1.15, back in November, apparently the only time it went down to there previously in the past 12 months, it was quite soon back up again (took them a week).

The Bury Black Pudding Company Traditional Black Pudding Slices (4 per pack - 230g)

    Store_2.15px.png
    £1.15 £5.00 / Kg
    Store_18.15px.png
    £1.09
    Store_1.15px.png
    £1.20

It's a local item - so, if you can find it...;)

Decided he's going. He's hyper and had 2 breakfasts. Don't want him missing more than needed

I would send him anyway, you are his mum and the closest person to him so you know if he is fit and well.

I was always worried that mine would announce in school that they had been ill and go into vast descriptions into the colour and volume of bodily effluent and then I would end up with yet another call from school to come and collect them
so mine were told not to tell anyone - I think they preferred a boring day at school rather than a boring day at home but then it was pre mobiles, pre ipad days ...
    (eldest son got a Gameboy at 11 :) )

  • DS was sick yesterday. Just looking at nhs website and it recommends 48hrs off school after the last case!!!! He's absolutely fine since yesterday afternoon and eating loads, bouncing on the sofa. He was so bored. I'm tempted to send him anyway, I can't see the problem myself

I think you've already sent him so may be a moot point but I think it's for 2 reasons...
1 Sickness in children is passed easily as their hygiene is really poor so they are better away from others until they won't share so the longer the better to make sure and
2 It used to be 24 hrs but I don't think people listened at all and figured 'it'll be fine' so kids who were sick in the night were sent to school etc that morning. Definitely, spreading their germs. By increasing it to 48 hrs, they might get 24.:rotfl:

Only my opinion, but from working with kids it's what I've seen.

I have dd2 at home today as she was sick in the night but now bouncing around like usual. She'll be going in tomorrow so long as she keeps everything down today. :D :rotfl:

Hope everyone else is well? Has anyone else had that bad flu going round? I heard that there is a new strain and many friends and kids have had it recently. I seem to be fine though, thankfully. Mummys can't be ill.
