However my partner took me off her policy 4 months ago, she then told me she would put me back on, but she forgot to. I have not reali drove the car but she is pregnant and in some discomfort, I took the wheel, with the impression that I was insured, but because she for got to do it I wasn't!
99% of the time she drives any way.
Is there anything I can do?
No. It's an absolute offence. There is only one statutory defence, which is that you were driving your employer's vehicle and did not know that it was uninsured. In all other cases ignorance or oversight is no defence.
If you have your own car and policy you may well be covered to drive other vehicles - check your certificate carefully. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

The seemingly standard punishment that I've seen handed out on all the various police programs on TV, is £200 fine, 6 points and the Car is seized by the police. Then it's another £150 recovery fee, plus £20 per day storage. If the car isn't collected within 14days it can then be crushed by the police. Given all the ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras that are in police cars, marked & unmarked, and around towns theses days, it's a no brainer. Hope you are successful with your quest.0

All you can do is take the fixed penalty. You are aware now that you were uninsured and you admit that, and this offence has no mitigating circumstances.craig.allens wrote: »I have recently been issued with a fixed penalty and 6 points, for no car inssurance.

If you challenge it in court you will only get a bigger fine + costs.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
