One frustrated Vista user here STILLLLLLLLLLL waiting for Virgin to get its act together and sort our PCGuard security. Promised on website earlier as "in July" - pardon me if I am reading my calendar wrong - but it states its now August! Freeby security provider I currently have is about to go - and not telling me how many days I have left - so I'm having to guesstimate how much longer Virgin have got available to do this in before I have to go on the hunt for another freeby security package. Can I presume that whilst my free security trial is still saying its about to expire that I am okay to continue using pc - that its safe to do so unless freeby security actually says it HAS expired.
Can also still see the "Protected Mode on" wording still there by the word "Internet" at base of screen - so presume the word there will change to "off" once freeby security goes?
Anyone know exactly what date yet Virgin will start up our PCguard? .....gasp........gasp.....gasp!

No idea when PCguard will be available but i just use a variety of free tools for security. I'm using Vista Home Premium and Virgin (formerly Telewest) cable. The tools I use are
Microsoft Defender - real time anti spyware
AdAware Personal SE - anti spyware scanner
Spybot S&D - anti Spyware scanner
AVG free - Antivirus
Zone Alarm Free - firewall
All of the above are free and easy to set up and use. You don't really need PCguard, especially the one you have to pay for. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
