electoral register and credit check

Would someone who's not on the election roll definitely fail a credit check to get a mortgage if they otherwise had an excellent credit score and all other paperwork in place?

And once they do get on the roll. ..how soon does it 'show up'? Ie when can they have a credit check to get the required outcome?

Thnx

There is no such thing as 'failing' a credit check. A credit check will give you a score, and not being on the electoral register will reduce your score a bit. When you are on it you should be able to see it in a month or so, however your credit score will only improve once you have been on it for a period of time.

Whether your credit score is good enough to get any credit, including a mortgage depends on the lenders required credit score. It will certainly not prevent you getting any mortgage, however it will help your score and may allow you to get the best deals.
  • I was on the roll til august when I moved somewhere else.

I applied for posting voting I believe. Should have gone through but they sent a letter which I need to find saying I had to confirm something or send something back

I'll do this at the weekend

But how will this play out if I'm putting a 10% deposit down? I have a decision in principle saying I can borrow 90-130k. I only need 80-90k. One cc thst is clear and no other debt or loans. Earn above uk average salary etc. No missed cc payments apart from maybe 2 over many years.

Should I wait or go through a credit check to get mortgage in principle?
