Does a good first impression influence your opinion of someone?

It takes far more than a first impression for me to form any opinion of someone. Never judge a book by its cover. The only way to decide how you feel about someone is to take the time to really get to know them. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

Maybe, but you also need to open your mouth and speak to the person to build any kind of connection. They can be attracted to you from afar, but once you show your personality, there may be no connection and then it's pointless. Did she give away any signs that she was interested?
I always think it's best to just go and find out. If you see someone you like, you may as well go over and start a conversation, if they don't like you then so be it, but you never know until you try.
I was always too reserved and shy to approach in the past when I was in college and in clubs, even though the signals were clear that girls liked me, but I never did anything about it. When you do something about it, it gives you a clear piece of mind once you find out for sure.
You should have gone for the number, friend. Even if she said she had a husband/boyfriend, at least you went for what you want and didn't resign yourself to thinking "what if" etc and she probably would have respected you for it too, especially if she was genuinely interested in you.
However, saying all this, she's in the past now and you need to remember to take the opportunity when it arises next time around. Good luck!0 -
Of course it does! Saying that second impressions do even more, oh and third and fourth!!
I met my OH on a blind date and as I was walking to our meeting place, I saw two men waiting and I immediately hope he was the one rather than the other (it was!). First impression! My OH was wearing a long coat and scarf and yes, that made him look very nice indeed. The funny thing is that he has never once worn it again since that day!0 -
You met your oh on a blind date fbaby?
Ooohhh tell us more :j
I love stories like that.
What was the first date?
Were you inseperable after first date?
Or was it a slow burn?

Your days are numbered babe.
He wouldn't know a decent woman if it smacked him in the face ( I'm hoping many will).
Maybe train woman had a lucky escape.
Bye all0 -
I've read and watched the railway children when i was younger but not the railway man, why?
It's the true (apparently) story of a man (Colin Firth) who meets a woman (Nicole Kidman) on a train. There is a spark and he tracks her down. Just the beginning of their story of helping him come to terms with his treatment at the hands of the Japanese in Malaya during WWII.
Very enjoyable film. Maybe one for a Valentine's night alone!!!0 -
You have her number furg? Oooohhhhh
OK I'm back in!
Can I have it? Can I ring her? :rotfl:
YOU HAVE TO PHONE HER! No texts. Just talk
Valentines day :T
