Since starting this diary I have made following overpayments:
Loan1 - 500,100,300
Loan2 - 300,100
So that's 1,300 :T
I know I should be very happy and proud to overpay so much but to be honest it's making me feel a bit sick.. Just thinking of having this money for myself and also how much money we would have been wasting before!0 -
The gloves are off.. I'm ready for some serious debt busting.. I did a SOA earlier and wanted to post it here, but it wouldn't let me copy and paste it from the iPad... Well apparently we should have over 800 left each month, which I'm not seeing, I haven't missed anything of the SOA if anything I added extra things like clothes where's normally I don't buy clothes anymore (have loads) just with our birthday money.
We have booked our short break so won't need money for any other big spends. I will put aside for spending money, kids uniform and presents.
But the new plan is this: pay off loan 1 before Christmas 2015!
Its 5,595 vs 10 payments
Excited and I think I will benefit from having a smaller target which is not so far away that it's unreacheable!
Minimum payments 158x10 = 1,580 leaving
4,015 /10 = just over 400 extra payment per month..
I CAN DO IT :money:0 -

Let's do it stepup! We can definitely motivate and support each other
How are you feeling about paying out such a large sum each month? I'm a bit sick with the thought of what other things I could be doing with the money .. But I got myself into this mess and now it's payback time
And I'm looking forward to not having this loan. Trying to imagine how it will feel and I think the satisfaction from it be amazing.. Especially knowing that I've paid it all off myself (well with hubby but you know what I mean)
We will do it!! Best Christmas present ever0 -
Out with sister - total spend 0
Because we got in an argument last night, so I cancelled. Don't want to go and then end up saying more things I will regret.
As a bit of a back story, she and her boyfriend moved here and it's been one thing after another. I know they are young and as soon as I found out about them moving I warned her mum (same dad different mums) that I wasn't in a position to help them financially. Well they keep asking and her boyfriend asked again last night in a very cheeky way..
Our dad gave them money last month as I refused and this money gone nowhere, she said she bought a phone and clothes with it?! After telling me they don't have money to pay rent?!!
It's all a bit messy and brought feelings back that my dad never once helped us, but given her large sums of money..
Anyway I have decided to not be an adult and if I feel like throwing a strop and cancelling I will (and have done!)
Well at least I didn't have to pay for her and spend money I don't have tonight eh xx0 -
On way home from after work drinks
Total spend 5.80 and had two beers. Some people did complain as I was leaving early but I stuck to it and here I am hehe. I'm sure I'm getting a "boring" reputation!
Haven't checked my bank but pleased to be on track with the budgeted spends0 -
Another thing.. When ringing up to check on my loan 1, they gave me a settlement figure of 4800 compared to my loan total of 5,595 as my interest rate is quite high at almost 9% apr...
Thinking now of getting a 0% deal and moving the loan to credit card.. Something I read about on this forum, feels like robbing Peter to pay Paul but I can trust myself to do it now and saving all this interest!!
Will look into tomorrow0 -

Now that's cheating!!actually, it's a brilliant idea, and OF COURSE you should do it, if your credit rating will let you get a 0% CC for that amount.

I feel the same.. £500 (ish) a month! We could do an awful lot with that.. And we will, just as soon as we've got DF. Can't wait! xxLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

Argh... I broke my eternity ring (the ring is one of only two extravagantish things I have to show for my massive debt doh!) AND this is the second time it happened! I only had this ring about 3 years!
First time one of the diamonds cracked so I had to have it replaced.. I complained to the shop as surely a diamond wasn't that hard to brake?! I was under the impression diamonds were forever
Anyway the shop send it off for investigation and when I got it back with photos etc.. It showed that I knocked it. I also took it for second opinion to an independent shop and they said that when you buy diamonds from the high street shops they are of poorer quality.. But yes they could see a dent where I knocked it... In the end it cost £140 to fix and replace diamond (one of seven diamonds on there).
Well this time it went one step further and another diamond has actually fell out... Not the one I had replaced.. And once again I have no insurance so it will cost to to fix. I bet it will cost more than 140 which was two years ago
I told hubby this is a sign we not meant to be together for eternity as the eternity ring been cursed.. I'm joking, but yeah
Will wait to hear how much it will cost to repair and then decide what to do about it..
Another annoyance is after scrimping and saving this week, hubby went out and spent 30.
Also he is getting a company phone but won't consider selling his personal handset. He is tied into contract so we won't see immediate benefit, but after that's finished we won't have to pay for his mobile bill again wooohooo.. So that's a big plus.
But if he would consider selling his current phone, we could get about 200 for it now which will help!
I feel sometimes he is not on fully on board which is frustrating.
Btw when my company did the same and gave me company mobile I sold my old handset straight away, getting 170 for it. Which went towards spending money for our holiday at the time. So it's not like I'm asking him to do something I didn't do myself... But he wants it as a "spare" ........ And breathe0
