Nah, there's ways and means around it, get a good neighbour on the same tariff but opposite free day and borrow their free leccy(or visa versa) with the use of a nice long extension
Hmm! Do you really want to send me off on another epic ponder?
Forgetting the EV, I've already worked out this morning, that my 50kWh (25kWh useable) lead acid batt would leave me only having to import 5 to 10kWh per week in December and January, and nothing the rest of the year.
If I could get that for £3k or so (...... and persuade Wifey that having a couple of tonnes of batts potentially venting hydrogen in the garage is ok) then certainly food for thought.
So, what would their antisocial policy make of that import profile. If they're looking out for 11%+, and I have a 5kWh 6.5 days v's 40kWh 0.5 days pattern ..... 89%!
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
