  • The premise this company works on is “The Claimant is committing fraud, and how quickly can we fine them and stop the payments”.

It took just shy of eight months to get the single person council tax discount when my wife died, apparently a death certificate was not proof that she was no longer living at the address.

    So what was sufficient?

Does anyone have the number for them as apparently they have written to me but I haven't received it and now they have stopped my ctc and wtc and I have no idea why without talking to them.
    Thanks
  • Hi, I got this letter out a few weeks ago and I've already sent away my evidence. I haven't phoned this concentrix simply because I only operate via mobile and it will cost a fortune. Basically I am living in a womens refuge and I have been there since April 2014. They are now saying I have another adult living with me, no name or anything. The refuge wrote me a letter saying how long I've been there and how it's just been me and my daughter. Will they accept this?

Did they actually address the letter to the refuge? or was it to your previous address and you somehow received it.

    They absolutely should accept that.

When I was in DWP until 2003, women's refuge addresses were NEVER recorded. All mail went to an official care of address.

    Does this not happen now?

Weirdly a bank statement, which of course had my address on!
  • I too have received a letter from Concentrix. A multi-billion pound American company outsourced by HMRC to pressure claimants into giving information regarding their claim within 30 days or risk losing their Tax Credits. They are paid for the amount of money they SAVE the government thus it is in their best interest to make sure they find a problem with your Tax Credit claim. My letter states that they think my payments may be wrong but they have given no evidence as to WHY. Obviously they think they can make accusations without substantiating or justifying any of their suspicions. They presume guilt and ask you to prove you are innocent, which I'm pretty certain is the wrong way around. However they are legally obliged to produce to you any information they have about you under The Data Protection Act 1998. Now if everybody who receives a letter from Concentrix asks for the information they hold on them it will put a huge amount of pressure ON THEM! They generate 50 new investigations a day. They would find it difficult to cope with that many investigations being put back on them. So I urge anyone who receives a letter to send them the information they request but to also ask them, referencing The Data Protection Act, to supply the information Concentrix has on them. The odd individual letter won't make much difference. SO LETS ALL DO IT! Actually anybody who claims Tax Credits could do it as they are looking at everyone.

What 'difference' do you think it will make if people followed your advice ?
