Should I provide Diamond certificate number?

Hi
I have advertised two diamond rings which I no longer wear on gumtree as I'm buying a house and could do with the cash. Someone has contacted me and asked me to scan a copy of the certificate for the certified one. I have given them all the details but they want proof that it is certified.
I am weary of showing a copy of the certificate to someone I have never met as I don't know if the certificate number could then be duplicated etc.
What would you suggest?
thanks

I would say no. This should be a face to face transaction, tell the buyer that the certificates will be supplied with the rings.0 -
Personally if it was me l wouldn't sell them on Gumtree too many horror stories. I would take them to a jewelers etc.0

take anything to a jeweller and you will be offered scrap value only.0 -
Redact the personal info and number0

I would scan a copy, covering some details with Microsoft paint, also add you're own personal watermark so it cannot be duplicated0
