what you proposed to use as a deposit on another HP, well its stated there in black and white he doesn't have the funds or maybe the credit rating to get one hence why he intends to pay the balloon and keep it so long as its been repaired.
He seems to have the funds to buy it outright though, I bet that's another two years worth of payments.
Not everyone can cash in for another freebie.0 -
http://www.peugeot.co.uk/contact-us/Peugeot HQ will have nothing to do with the car. it is the supplying dealer and the finance co who the contract is with.
its their product that is faulty that a dealership cant or wont rectify im sure they will take a look into it.0 -
He already stated he wants to keep it but is worried about the gearbox, if they replace or repair it competently then he wont have to spend out.Spicy_McHaggis wrote: »He seems to have the funds to buy it outright though, I bet that's another two years worth of payments.

what your suggesting is that even if it is repaired he must get shot of it because it MAY have future faults, well sorry every car has faults as they get older its part of motoring.
You never know, he maybe able to wrangle an extended warranty out of them to cover the gearbox. depends on his haggling skills.
The Funds for the balloon payment may have been saved over the period he has had the car and is ready and waiting.
if his credit had changed and his ability to afford another HP then using those saving and not being able to save during that for balloon payment would just be a waste of money where as if he buys it now outright, it will free him up financially and not worry about it and have a car to drive about in.0 -
